Q&A: Radiographic Modalities

Andrew L Callen MD

Dr. Andrew L Callen is Associate Professor of Neuroradiology and Neurology, Neuroradiology, and Director of the CSF Leak Program at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

Dr. Callen completed his MD at the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine in 2014, after earning a BS from the University of California, San Diego, in 2010. Following an internship with Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco (2015), Dr. Callen completed both his residency (2019) and fellowship (2020) in neuroradiology at the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Callen specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks, with a focus on both spontaneous and iatrogenic CSF leaks. He has authored numerous scientific manuscripts on CSF leak diagnosis and treatment, and holds a pending patent for a novel patient positioning device for dynamic CT myelography.

Dr. Callen is an active member of the Medical Advisory Board for Spinal CSF Leak Canada and the American Spinal CSF Leak Foundation. He also serves as a Neuroradiology Consultant for the Scientific Committee of Spinal CSF Leak Canada.

Richard Farb MD, FRCPC

Dr Richard Farb is an Associate Professor of Radiology at the University of Toronto and practicing diagnostic and interventional neuroradiologist at the Toronto Western Hospital. Dr. Farb is also the site director of radiology at Sinai Health - Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. Dr. Farb’s areas of expertise include all areas of adult neuroradiology with a particular interest in vascular imaging of the brain and spine as well as imaging and investigation of disorders of intracranial pressure.

Dr. Farb graduated from medical school at the University of Toronto in 1985 following his residency training in diagnostic radiology at Wayne State University. He completed a two-year fellowship in neuroradiology at the University of Toronto teaching hospitals. He is one of the leading experts and well-published author on spontaneous intracranial hypotension.

Dr. Farb is an active member of the Medical Advisory Board and neuroradiology consultant of the Scientific Committee for Spinal CSF Leak Canada.

Anish Kapadia MD

Dr Anish Kapadia is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Imaging at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Dr. Kapadia's research focuses on neurovascular disease and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) disorders, with an emphasis on leveraging imaging to improve patient management and understanding disease processes. His specific areas of interest include subarachnoid hemorrhage, blunt cerebrovascular injury, and CSF dynamics.

Dr. Kapadia earned his MD (2010–2014), completed a residency in radiology (2014–2019), and pursued a fellowship in diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology (2019–2021). Dr. Kapadia is an active member of the Medical Advisory Board for Spinal CSF Leak Canada.
